My Sweet Sweet Garden Wedding

January 30, 2023

Green was the theme for Jozie and Darin’s gorgeous September wedding, and the natural vibe was absolutely stunning!

The couple wanted UNION to feel like a green house, so UNION’s Planning team helped transform the space to make their dreams come true.

The entire ceremony and reception was decked out in floral arrangements, while green ivy and baby’s breath wrapped around the staircase and tables.

During the ceremony, the couple wanted to incorporate a unity sand pour, which was later sent off and turned into hand blown champagne flutes for the couple to celebrate with in the future! How romantic is that?!

After the tears were shed and the cheers were shouted, guests transitioned downstairs to UNION’s Speakeasy for cocktail hour catered by Sugar and Spice Catering, while the wedding party took photos around downtown KC.

Love for the couple continued to pour out during dinner and the reception. Jozie’s grandma began the dinner with a beautiful prayer, followed with toasts and speeches by their friends and each of their fathers.

During the reception, a guest of Darin came out and surprised the couple with a native ceremonial head crown and lei from Hawaii. Jozie and Darin were speechless, as this was a big honor to have received.

The couple then made an impromptu decision to incorporate their crown and lei in their rooftop sunset photos!

The reception was a huge dance party thanks to DJ Connection, and concluded with and a delicious late night snack from Buffalo Pizza Company.

A special thank you to our vendor team:
