Keshawn and Tayvia met in high school, nearly ten years ago. Since then, these two have tackled every challenge they’ve come across as a couple – including having a very short engagement!
The happy couple got engaged on July 4th, and decided to get married just three months later! As soon as Tayvia met UNION’s team during the WedKC Wedding Expo, she immediately got to planning!
In order to make sure she had support in carrying out her vision, and could focus on the most important aspect of their day: Tayvia hired UNION for Day-of Coordination.
It was important to Tayvia and Keshawn to have their dream vendor team, with an emphasis on celebrating diversity. They hired vendors who were minority-owned, inclusive of all, and shared the same values as they do.
UNION and our parent company 828 Venue Management Company pride ourselves on these values as well, and choose to surround ourselves with vendors and partners that share our same core beliefs.
Tayvia and Keshawn also wanted to focus on sustainability with their design and decor. They opted for dried florals, pampas grass, grass, rentals, and UNION’s mylar tape designs to highlight the dance floor!
For the ceremony, Tayvia and Keshawn wanted a unique circular setup, where the only people that stood at the altar were the two of them, and the officiant.
Their immediate family, bridesmaids and groomsmen sat in the inner circle, representing the closest support system to the couple. This created a very intimate and symbolic environment as the couple was surrounded by loved ones.
The reception was nothing short of a party! Complete with dancing, delicious desserts, drinks, and even better company! Since UNION handled all of the day’s coordination, Tayvia and Keshawn were able to enjoy the party all night, knowing all the little details were handled!
From high school sweethearts to now Mr. and Mrs., these two have been celebrated and seen off into their next phase of life together by their “circle” of community. We’re thrilled to see what comes next for this amazing power couple!
