…but you can’t take Kansas City out of the couple!
When Taylor and Johnnie got engaged and began thinking about where to host their wedding, they realized Taylor’s hometown of Kansas City was a no-brainer. Fast forward a few months, and the couple brought 150 of their closest loved ones to UNION for a KCMO-themed celebration!
Taylor and Johnnie hired UNION’s Planning team for day-of coordination, to help bring their minimalistic vision with a priority on the special moments of their day, to life.
For the ceremony, Johnnie’s mother used her origami skills to create the sweetest heart garland that hung behind the couple as they tied the knot!
After happy tears and lots of cheers, guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour in UNION’s Speakeasy, followed by a delicious dinner from Blue Pot Catering.
Blue Pot created a menu that captured the couple’s favorites like Burger Sliders, Chicken N’ Waffles, and Loaded Mac N Cheese. These were the perfect foods to fuel the party!
The mood lighting, simplistic decor from Hyvee Floral, Supply Event Rentals, and the couple, gave the room a romantic and whimsical feel, while keeping the focus on enjoying quality time together.
After the precious and memorable first dances concluded, DJ Kaiden, with Fernando Productions started the ultimate dance party. Nearly everyone was out of their seats in a matter of minutes!
Truly listening to the couple’s music taste, DJ Kaiden spun everything from 90’s pop throwbacks, wedding classics like Whitney Houston’s “I wanna dance with somebody”, and even threw in some go-to Country songs!
For dessert, the pros at McLain’s Bakery provided a delicious dessert spread complete with colorful macaroons, lemon bars, and of course, wedding cake!
Thank you to our amazing vendor team!
