Where Intimate Elegance Meets Playful Charm: Emily + Patrick’s Kansas City Wedding at UNION

November 1, 2025

Emily and Patrick’s wedding at UNION in Kansas City was one of those days that felt effortlessly warm from beginning to end; the kind of celebration where every detail reflected the couple’s personality, and every moment felt genuine. From the start, they knew they wanted an intimate guest list. It was important to both Emily and Patrick to focus on surrounding themselves with the people who meant the most to them, creating a day full of meaning and presence.

Personalized Wedding Planning with UNION’s In-House Team

The couple hired our in-house planning experts to help bring their vision to life. The partial planning package was the perfect balance for Emily and Patrick to feel involved in the process, and also have expert guidance and organization. This down-to-earth couple wanted their wedding day to feel just that. The ceremony altar was filled with lush plants and natural earth tones, placed on and around UNION’s hexagon arch, giving the room a soft, organic feel. With our exposed brick and natural light, the vibe felt grounded and calm.

Playful and Personal Wedding Details

One of our favorite details from their day was how they tied in subtle touches that made guests smile. Their detail shots included mini Lego people holding the wedding rings, a nod to their playful spirit. Guests also signed a custom Lego guest book that became a one-of-a-kind keepsake.

As the evening unfolded, the reception held just as much of an organic feel as the ceremony. Tables were set up with greenery and candles while UNION’s market light wall cast a cozy glow over dinner and dancing. Emily and Patrick took a few quiet moments together in our speakeasy, capturing moody, romantic portraits before rejoining their guests for a night that was anything but ordinary.

A Romantic Rooftop Moment Over the Kansas City Skyline

Just when we thought the evening couldn’t get any more magical, they headed upstairs for one of the most unforgettable moments of the day: cutting their cake on UNION’s rooftop, framed by the Kansas City skyline.

A Celebration to Remember

Once the dance floor opened, the energy was electric. The newlyweds slipped on cowboy hats, grabbed their disco ball cups, and celebrated the night away with the people they love most. As the night came to an end, friends and family lined up for a bubble-filled grand exit, sending the couple off in a sparkling haze of light and laughter — a joyful finale to a day that perfectly captured who they are.

Emily and Patrick’s wedding reminded us what we as planners love most about intimate celebrations. When the guest list is smaller, the emotions are bigger, and every moment grabs your attention. It was a day full of intention, joy, and personal touches, making UNION feel less like a venue and more like home.
