A Colorful, Modern Wedding at UNION

July 18, 2024

Spencer and Paul had a gorgeous wedding at UNION that perfectly combined their styles: polished and modern with vibrant colors and party vibes!

The couple decided to hire our in-house planning team, 828 Planning, and Jessica helped them every step of the way! Spencer had witnessed his sister plan her wedding without the help of a planner, and knew that having a planner for his own wedding would be crucial to ensure he and Paul stayed organized and didn’t overthink tiny details.

Spencer and Paul recognized that no planner would know their venue better than our in-house team, so hiring 828 Planning was a no-brainer!

Throughout the planning process, Jessica’s got to know their families and appreciated their enthusiasm in every meeting. Everyone was so excited for Spencer and Paul to get married!

The couple tied all elements of their life into their wedding.

Their officiant, Steve, was the pastor from the church Paul grew up attending. During cocktail hour in the Speakeasy, guests could see photos of Spencer and Paul side by side at the same age from younger and older years.

The wedding aesthetic was modern with fun pops of color incorporated everywhere from the boutonnieres to the cake. They wanted to feel right at home as they tied the knot, so Spencer, Paul and Jessica matched the overall vibe of the wedding to that of their apartment.

UNION’s in-house rentals were put to great use, including our market light wall, pipe and drape, and yard games! In addition, the couple wanted to replicate the drink display from UNION’s Spring open house, made possible with pieces from Supply Event Rentals.

An incredible grazing table was also provided during cocktail hour by The Russell.

To help guests to feel welcomed, Spencer and Paul made QR code stickers which lead guests to a shared playlist link that they had created for the day.

Instead of beginning formal dances with the couple’s first dance, Spencer and Paul decided to begin with the mother/son dances combined. At the end of the dance, each mother handed their son off to each other for the couples dance, creating a beautiful and sentimental moment between all four of them.

After the formal dances, the couple decided to kick off open dancing with a bang! While taking an all-guest photo, confetti cannons went off, initiating the celebration of the decade!

It was clear that Spencer and Paul’s relationship was wrapped in an abundance of family love and support, and that love absolutely shined through on the big day!

Congratulations to this amazing couple!
