Kristin and D’Coleon Shorte’s wedding had us all swooning! The couple hired 828 Planning for month-of coordination and our team formed a great bond with them throughout the planning process.
The two met on Bumble and toured UNION venue after touring another venue nearby. They thought their minds were set on the other venue, but after touring UNION loved our space enough to change their minds! The couple booked February 24, 2024; a number combination special to D’Coleon, stemming from his school days where his sports number was 24.
After falling in love with UNION’s aesthetic, Kristin and D’Coleon knew they would need a planner to execute their dream day.
By booking planning through UNION/828, they were comforted by the fact that every question, concern, and idea could be immediately answered by a planner who is familiar with the space. Furthermore, they knew our team would pull all the stops to make their day everything they dreamed of and more!
The couple each got ready at UNION – the bridal party in our Client Ready Room, and the groom and groomsmen in our Speakeasy. Kristin and D’Coleon shared an intimate first look later on in the day in the Speakeasy, followed by a first look between Kristin and her bridesmaids.
Their green and gold color scheme elevated the venue in a classy fashion. Kristin’s bridesmaids wore velvet sage gowns, while the groomsmen looked dapper in dark green suits. The couple utilized UNION’s pipe and drape, arch, and in-house greenery to create a whimsical ceremony aesethetic.
The two beautifully tied their traditions and faith into the ceremony with a unity braiding on a cross frame. This was a simple and lovely way to create something together that will hang on their wall forever!
During the ceremony, Kristin surprised their guests with a video from the night of their very first date! As she talked about D’Coleon, how much she liked him, and how she was determined to marry him, the guests were brought to laughter and tears.
We love looking back on the photos from Kristin and D’Coleon’s day and seeing their contagious smiles, and genuine love for each other shining through!
